As the Edinburgh Fringe 2014 swings into action Alfie is included in the Daily Mail’s pick of the best jokes with his thought-provoking offering: “Violence is never the answer…………. but what if the clue is an eight-letter word meaning to cause intentional physical harm?”
The first show of Alfie’s first BBC Radio 4 Comedy series It’s a Fair Cop airs in July in the coveted 6.30pm ‘drive time’ slot. Whilst the tone is humorous, the subjects tackled – including how to deal with a suspected drink-driver – represent the real dilemmas faced by police officers. What would you do if faced with a tricky policing decision? Find out what the studio audience would do and also the full tricky, and often hilarious, story from Alfie. Be sure to tune in on 9th, 16th and 23rd July and play along in your own car or kitchen!
Alfie is delighted to have been invited to be a guest on BBC Radio 4 ‘Loose Ends’ with the brilliant Clive Anderson and ‘fearless’ Arthur Smith. The eclectic mix of conversation, music and comedy bodes well for an hilarious show. The show will be first broadcast at 6.15pm on 5th July and if you missed it (or LOVED it so much you want to hear it again) it’s repeated on Monday 7th July on BBC Radio 4 Extra at 9.15pm and 11.15pm and (for the insomniacs and night-shift workers) 4.15am on Tuesday 8th.
As part of the warm up for Edinburgh this year Alfie is pleased to be previewing ‘THE NAKED STUN’ at the Leicester Square Theatre on Tuesday 22nd July 2014 at 7pm. Come along and enjoy the show and say hello (hello, hello) to Alfie. BOOK TICKETS HERE

After a successful pilot Alfie has had his first comedy series commissioned by Radio 4. The shows are due to record in the early summer and be broadcast during July 2014. The audience of It’s a Fair Cop will be sworn in as ‘temporary constables’, and be challenged to make the kind of on-the-spot decisions required in real-life policing situations. A mix of fascinating and funny discussion will create a show that is sometimes surprising but always hilarious.
Alfie was delighted to have his joke highlighted as one of the best one-liners coming out of this year’s Fringe – especially as others in the top 10 shortlist included jokes from Tim Vine and Marcus Brigstocke. The list was compiled by a panel of experts, who watched hours of footage, before a final vote by the public.
Alfie brings his brand new show to the Pleasance Courtyard (Venue 33) at the Edinburgh Fringe from 31st July to 25th August 2013. In a laughter filled hour Alfie takes you on the roller coaster true-life story of the glorious glamorous highest and deepest darkest lows of his gambling experiences. If you’ve ever enjoyed a flutter – or no someone who has this show is a sure bet for you. More info and book tickets To listen to Alfie talking about the story behind Viva Alf’s Vegas click here
